Given the genre’s widespread appeal, staying abreast of every release can be a challenge, particularly as some stories may subtly incorporate isekai elements without explicitly announcing themselves as such. To facilitate tracking the upcoming isekai anime, we present a comprehensive overview of the series slated for release in 2025.
Updated on February 3, 2025, by Mark Sammut: As the Winter 2025 anime season progresses, it has proven to be quite enjoyable. While the new isekai anime may not be dominating the spotlight, they are generally watchable. The Winter 2025 section has been updated to reflect this, and a Summer 2025 isekai anime has been added.
It’s important to note that this list focuses on new series; sequels will not be individually highlighted, as they are already established. Furthermore, the emphasis is on anime series, not films.
Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!
Winter 2025
In contrast to the abundance of 2025 isekai anime featuring overpowered (OP) protagonists who rely on brute force, it is always refreshing to encounter a main character who leverages intellect over strength. Uchimura, a competent yet underappreciated office worker, is unexpectedly summoned to another world by a demonic ruler. He receives an intriguing proposition: to join the ranks as one of the Heavenly Kings. Thus, Uchimura embarks on a new career path, utilizing his expertise in communication and sales to overcome challenges.
Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! presents a decent narrative, with Uchimura navigating alliances with the demon army’s neighbors. While the anime may not be exceptional, it remains a watchable offering.
Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time
Winter 2025

While a title can sometimes be sufficient to sell a concept, the inverse can also occur. Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time, also known as Someday Will I Be the Greatest Alchemist, sounds somewhat generic and uninspired. Takumi is unintentionally transported to a new world alongside a group of heroes.
As compensation for the accidental summoning, Takumi is granted the opportunity to select any skill, and he chooses “Creation.” This skill essentially transforms him into an alchemist capable of fabricating virtually anything with minimal limitations, rendering him instantly overpowered. The inclusion of “possibly” in the title might be a display of false modesty.
Promise of Wizard
Winter 2025

Adapted from a video game exclusive to Japan, Promise of Wizard also has two manga adaptations, suggesting a well-developed narrative. A woman is chosen as a sage and summoned to another world by a collective of wizards, all in the hope of averting a threat known as The Great Calamity.
Promise of Wizard has not garnered as much attention as other Winter 2025 isekai anime. However, Lidenfilms has a history of producing exceptional shows, and this could potentially be another success.
Zenshu
Winter 2025

Due to its original storyline, Zenshu was initially shrouded in mystery prior to its debut. Consequently, the anime’s isekai direction came as a surprise. Natsuko, a brilliant animator and director who achieved immediate success with her inaugural series, finds herself grappling with writer’s block while working on her second production. As the pressure mounts and the empty page stares back, the protagonist begins to feel the burden of expectations that accompany critical and commercial acclaim.
Suddenly, Natsuko chokes on a piece of food and loses consciousness, awakening in the world of an anime she watched as a child. Despite its initial poor reception, the movie resonated with Natsuko, who found its dark narrative and nihilistic themes compelling. Now, granted the opportunity to alter the narrative’s direction through her abilities as an animator, the protagonist seeks to reshape the story.
During Zenshu’s first episode, Natsuko acknowledges that her situation technically doesn’t qualify as isekai; however, it is sufficiently similar to warrant inclusion.
I’m a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic
Winter 2025

I’m a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic began as a novel in 2019, before being adapted into a light novel and manga. Consequently, Nazuna Miki’s narrative has experienced a degree of success across multiple mediums, and there is no reason to believe the anime will be a complete failure.
Centered around an overpowered protagonist who, as the title implies, finds himself inhabiting the body of a noble child, this story follows a fairly conventional formula for the genre. While it may not be groundbreaking, it offers a power fantasy with potentially questionable harem elements.
Magic Maker: How to Create Magic in Another World
Winter 2025

The typical isekai trope involves transporting an ordinary individual (typically male) to a fantasy world and granting them instant mastery of magic. Magic Maker deviates from this formula by focusing on a main character who discovers and develops magic with the assistance of his sister. The narrative progresses at a relatively measured pace, chronicling the protagonist’s efforts to advance the field. While this provides him with a significant advantage over most people, he is not necessarily overpowered, as he inhabits a world populated by dangerous monsters that pose a genuine threat.
Studio Deen requires no lengthy introduction. Focusing solely on isekai, the company is responsible for KonoSuba, which is an all-time great. As with any studio that has been around for more than four decades, Deen’s portfolio is a bit of a mixed bag, but the highs are among the industry’s greatest achievements. Magic Maker will probably not go down as one of the studio’s greatest shows, but it is mostly fine.
The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World
Winter 2025

Featuring a protagonist with a core ability similar to Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill’s MC, The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World follows Kenichi, a guy who reawakens in a new world with the useful ability to shop online. Unlike Campfire Cooking, this 2025 isekai anime is a harem, with the protagonist quickly finding himself surrounded by a plethora of girls who fit different archetypes and races.
While nothing too special, The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World works well as entertaining fluff that can keep a viewer distracted for 20 minutes a week. Kenichi is a competent protagonist who does not fall apart whenever a woman looks in his general direction.
From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated!
Winter 2025

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! is Winter 2025’s funniest isekai anime. The concept is pure gold, serving as a charming and hilarious parody of the villainess subgenre that has exploded in popularity over the last few years.
A middle-aged parent dies and is reborn as an otome game’s villainess, a situation that naturally catches him by surprise. Wanting to allow the heroes to lead happy lives, he decides to follow the game’s story; however, he is just not cut out to be a baddie. Therefore, he just ends up becoming everybody’s dad, even if they do not realize it. From Bureaucrat to Villainess has also introduced a fun twist by incorporating characters from the protagonist’s previous life.
Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!
Winter 2025

Both an isekai and reverse isekai, Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!’s mechanic for world-hopping is among the genre’s most inspired. Kazuhiro visits a fantasy world while dreaming, and he can bring somebody back with him by holding them when he dies or sleeps in that realm. This leads to him introducing Marie, an elf, to the beauty of Japan, which means a lot of sightseeing, food-eating, and slice of life wholesomeness.
Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! is cute and relaxing, while also highlighting Japanese culture. Episodes are split into sections set within Earth and the fantasy world, and they are both fairly enjoyable in their own right. That said, the former is the best part of the series, just because Marie’s world is quite traditional by the isekai genre’s standards.
The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World
Winter 2025

Now, here is one of the more entertaining new isekai anime of Winter 2025. Koyoshi Nakayoshi’s shonen manga is fairly well-liked, serving as a delightful action-packed comedy that pokes fun at both sentai and isekai tropes. As made obvious by the title, the story follows the red ranger (Tougo Asagaki) as he finds himself in another world.
The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World feels a touch different from other OP stories due to featuring a protagonist who was already strong before they made the jump to another world. Beyond that, Tougo is far from undefeatable, especially in situations where he cannot summon a mecha. Although not devoid of action, the anime is primarily a comedy that focuses on an ensemble cast.
I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!
Spring 2025

Sounding like a fun twist from the norm, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! follows a guy who gets a second chance at life after a just all-around terrible existence. He is reincarnated by a deity-like figure who initially seems to be kind; in truth, the latter was responsible for ruining the protagonist’s previous life.
As Liam, the MC finds himself in a position of power as part of an Intergalactic Empire, a role he tries to use for personal satisfaction. However, he might just be too good of a person to do anything all that cruel. An isekai with mecha and harem elements, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! looks like it could be dumb fun.
The Beginning After the End
Spring 2025

One of the more highly anticipated manhwa adaptations, The Beginning After the End follows a King who gets a chance to start fresh in a new realm, which seems perfect at first but has a darkness brewing underneath. The manhwa and its light novel adaptation are both highly regarded, blending drama and slow-life moments quite well. If the anime is done well, The Beginning After the End could be among the best isekai anime of 2025.
Studio A-Cat is a bit of an odd choice for the adaptation, especially since the company does not have a particularly great track record. On paper, The Beginning After the End should be A-Cat’s biggest release to date.
The Water Magician
Summer 2025

The Water Magician is a light novel series that spawned a manga in 2021, which is still going on today. The anime should debut in July 2025, bringing forth another story that features a relatively overpowered protagonist. There is nothing wrong with that as there is clearly a desire for OP MCs, but it will vary from viewer to viewer.
Ryou gets a second-go at life, and he not only picks up water magic but also has a trait that lets him remain endlessly young. The Water Magician establishes the latter by having the protagonist spend years alone at the start of the story, only to eventually transform into a more traditional adventure series.
Disney: Twisted-Wonderland The Animation – Episode of Heartslabyul
Fall 2025

An ONA series tentatively scheduled for October 2025, Disney: Twisted-Wonderland The Animation – Episode of Heartslabyul will mark the proper anime debut for this particular series, which started as a 2020 mobile game. Twisted-Wonderland is already quite a well-known property, which is hardly surprising since it combines a few very popular concepts: Disney villains, isekai, magic schools, and Black Butler. Yes, the franchise was put together by Yana Toboso, although the author did not personally write the Episode of Heartslabyul manga that this anime will adapt.
The story follows Yuu, a high school student who finds himself in another world and stuck at Night Raven College, which has students and dormitories based on classic antagonists from Disney stories.
2025 Isekai Anime With No Release Season

So far, only a handful of 2025 isekai anime have confirmed their release periods, which makes sense since only Winter has started to take shape. Still, an anime has been announced for the upcoming year without a season (and this number will grow during the next few months).

2025 Isekai Anime Sequels

As exciting as new shows are, sequels almost always attract more attention, especially when it comes to isekai. The theme rarely produces something that justifies repeat visits, so the exceptions are always worth noting. At the moment, only a couple of 2025 isekai anime sequels have been announced.
